ADVENTURE TRAINING
The Air Training Corps’ aim for Adventure Training is to encourage and foster the development of character, leadership and physical qualities among Cadets.

FALKLANDS MEMORIAL COMPETITION
Adventure Training forms an essential part of the Air Cadet's training syllabus. As well as helping cadets forge new friendships, adventure training enables all cadets to show off their leadership qualities. Cadets may also participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, where any practice and experience they gain with their Squadron will become invaluable.
Many Squadrons in the Wing undertake local training weekends which provide cadets with the basic training required to develop the cadet’s individual skills. Essex Wing runs Adventure Training Camps at various locations teaching both Adventurous Training skills and Leadership techniques as well as an annual Adventure Training competition which tests all the various Adventure Training skills which the cadets have learnt and practised.
Safety is of paramount importance when planning Adventure Training activities which are only run by suitably qualified staff.
